Privacy Policy

Last updated October 4, 2026

The short version: Clearly has no accounts. Your sessions, reflections and settings are written to a database inside the app on your iPhone, and we cannot see them. To understand how the app is used, it sends a small set of anonymous usage events to our analytics provider, PostHog. Those events do not include your name or anything you write.

This policy covers the Clearly iPhone app (com.mtappstudio.clearly), published byMT App Studio.

What stays on your device

  • Your completed sessions: date, and how long you sat.
  • Anything you write in a reflection.
  • Your answer to the occasional “Enjoying Clearly?” question.
  • Your settings: preferred session length, practice days, reminder time, sound and display choices, and the first name you optionally enter so the app can greet you.

That database belongs to the app, and iOS keeps it private to the app. Deleting Clearlydeletes all of it, and there is no copy anywhere else to restore from.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app uses PostHog, on its EU servers, for product analytics. It sends an event when:

  • you finish setting up the app, with the schedule and session length you chose;
  • a session starts, finishes, or ends early, with its length, any time left, and your total number of completed sessions;
  • you turn on a reminder, with the time you set;
  • the rating question is shown, and how you answered it;
  • the app is installed, opened, or closed, and when you move between screens.

PostHog’s library adds technical details to each event: a random identifier created on your phone, the app version, your device model and iOS version, and similar settings such as language. Events are not linked to your name, an account, or your Apple ID, and they are not used for advertising. IP-based location lookup is turned off.

Not sent: your name, the text of your reflections, or anything else you type. There is currently no switch inside the app to turn analytics off.

What the app does not do

  • No account, sign-in, email address, or password.
  • No advertising, ad identifiers, or App Tracking Transparency prompt.
  • No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • No in-app purchases or subscriptions, so no payment data of any kind.
  • No access to your contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, or health data.
  • No selling of personal information.

The name you enter

The app can greet you by name. That name is stored in the same local database as everything else and is used for nothing but the greeting on the home screen. Leaving it blank is fine — the greeting simply drops it.

Reminders

When you set a reminder, your iPhone schedules those notifications itself for the days and time you chose. There is no push server, so reminders work with no network connection and involve sending nothing about you anywhere. You can revoke notification permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Sharing your progress

The progress screen can hand a summary to the standard iOS share sheet. That only happens when you tap share, and where it goes is entirely your choice — the app does not post anything anywhere on its own.

Crash reports

We do not include a crash-reporting SDK. iOS itself may send aggregated, anonymous crash and performance data to Apple, which developers can view in App Store Connect. That is controlled by you in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, and it never contains your reflections.

Children

Clearly is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by writing to our support address, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data — under the GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws — apply to data a company holds about you. The only data we hold is the anonymous usage events described above. Because they are tied to a random identifier rather than to your name or an account, we generally cannot tell which events came from you. Your practice history and reflections stay on your phone, and deleting the app erases them.

Changes to this policy

If the app starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
